Summer Solstice Riual
Welcoming A Season Of Joy, Growth, and Light
The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year, when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky and nature is in full bloom. Flowers stretch toward the light, gardens flourish, and the world reminds us that growth happens naturally when we are rooted and nourished.
Rather than focusing on what needs to be fixed or released, the Summer Solstice invites us to celebrate what is already growing within us while intentionally planting the seeds for the season ahead.
What You’ll Need
A sunflower
A small glass spray bottle (or cup of water)
Water
Sunstone crystal chips (or river rock if you don’t have crystals)
A few drops of your favorite essential oil (If you have some)
Wildflower seed paper (or a regular blank piece of paper)
A pen
Step 1: Connect with the Energy of the Sun
Begin by holding your sunflower and taking a few slow, intentional breaths.
Close your eyes and imagine standing in the warmth of the summer sun. Feel its light filling your body from head to toe. Just as the sunflower naturally turns toward the sun, allow yourself to turn toward what brings you joy, peace, vitality, and purpose.
Ask yourself:
What is already blooming in my life?
Where have I grown this year?
What would I like to cultivate this summer?
How can I invite more joy into my everyday life?
Take a few moments to simply receive the warmth of the season.
Step 2: Create Your Summer Solstice Sun Water Ritual Mist -
Step 2: See Below - for simple ritual
Fill your glass bottle with water.
Add a few pieces of sunstone as a symbol of confidence, vitality, joy, and the radiant energy of the sun.
Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Ylang ylang offers a beautiful floral scent that encourages relaxation, openness, and connection.
Hold the bottle in both hands and speak your intention aloud or silently:
“May this water carry the energy of joy, vitality, confidence, and abundance. May it remind me to return to my own light and trust the path unfolding before me.”
If possible, place your bottle in the sunlight for a little while, allowing it to absorb the warmth and symbolism of the Summer Solstice.
Step 2: Simple Ritual:
Fill a cup with water, hold the glass with both hands and say:
“May this water carry the energy of joy, vitality, confidence, and abundance. May it remind me to return to my own light and trust the path unfolding before me.”
If possible, place your cup in the sunlight for a little while, allowing it to absorb the warmth and symbolism of the Summer Solstice.
Step 3: Plant Your Intention
On your wildflower seed paper or regular paper, complete the sentence:
“This summer I cultivate…”
Perhaps your intention is:
Joy
Confidence
Creativity
Adventure
Connection
Ease
Gratitude
Abundance
Plant the paper in your garden or a flower pot and gently water it with your cup of water, or spray it with your sun water. *be careful spraying plants with essential oils.
As the flowers begin to grow throughout the summer, allow them to serve as a living reminder of the intentions you’re nurturing within yourself.
Step 4: Rest & Receive
Complete your ritual with meditation, sound healing, or simply sitting quietly in nature.
The Summer Solstice reminds us that growth isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes the greatest transformation comes from slowing down long enough to appreciate how far we’ve come and allowing ourselves to receive the warmth, beauty, and abundance already present in our lives.
Each time you use your Summer Solstice Sun Water Ritual Mist, or look at your plant where you poured your water, take a deep breath and reconnect with your intention. Let it become a small daily ritual that reminds you to choose joy, welcome possibility, and continue growing with the season.
May this Summer Solstice bring you sunshine in your heart, courage to bloom, and the reminder that, like the sunflower, you were always meant to turn toward the light.
With love,
Alison
