Why you feel lighter after an energy session…

One of the most common things people say after a session at My Studio is:

“I feel lighter.”

It’s something I hear after Reiki, sound healing, massage, and even my Spirit Alchemy Sessions.

Sometimes people aren’t sure exactly what shifted.

They simply know they feel different.

More peaceful.

More grounded.

Like they can finally take a deep breath.

But what does “feeling lighter” actually mean?

We Carry More Than We Realize

Throughout our daily lives, we naturally collect experiences.

Some are joyful.

Some are stressful.

Some we process in the moment.

Others we quietly carry with us.

Work responsibilities.

Difficult conversations.

Busy schedules.

Grief.

Worry.

Constant decision-making.

Even when we don’t consciously think about these experiences anymore, our bodies often continue holding onto the effects of them.

Sometimes that shows up as tight shoulders.

A clenched jaw.

Restless sleep.

Mental exhaustion.

Or simply feeling like you’ve been carrying the weight of the world.

Many of us become so accustomed to living this way that we forget what it feels like to truly relax.

Your Body Is Always Communicating

Our bodies have an incredible ability to tell us when something needs our attention.

Sometimes it’s through physical tension.

Sometimes it’s emotional overwhelm.

Sometimes it’s feeling disconnected from ourselves without knowing why.

These experiences aren’t signs that something is wrong with you.

They’re simply messages.

Your body may be asking for rest.

For quiet.

For support.

For space to process everything you’ve been carrying.

The challenge is that many of us continue pushing forward instead of pausing long enough to listen.

The Body Keeps The Score

What Happens During an Energy Healing Session?

Whether you’re receiving Reiki, Sound Healing, Massage Therapy, or a Spirit Alchemy Session, one of the greatest gifts is the opportunity to simply slow down.

For many people, it’s one of the only times all week that they aren’t responsible for anything.

There are no emails to answer.

No decisions to make.

No one asking anything from you.

Your only job is to receive.

As your body begins to relax, your nervous system often shifts out of a constant state of doing and into a state of rest.

This creates an opportunity for your body to begin releasing what it’s been holding.

That may include:

  • Physical tension

  • Emotional heaviness

  • Mental overwhelm

  • Stress

  • Fatigue

  • A feeling of energetic stagnation

Every person’s experience is unique.

There is no right or wrong way to receive.

Why You Feel Different Afterwards

When your body is finally given permission to soften, it’s common to notice subtle changes.

Many clients describe feeling:

  • Lighter

  • More grounded

  • Calm

  • Clearer mentally

  • More emotionally balanced

  • Able to breathe more deeply

  • More connected to themselves

It isn’t necessarily that something new was added.

It’s often that something your body no longer needed was finally allowed to move.

Imagine carrying a heavy backpack all day without realizing how heavy it had become.

When you finally set it down, your body immediately notices the difference.

Many people describe an energy session in a similar way.

The weight they were carrying may not have been visible, but once it’s released, they recognize how much it was affecting them.

Sometimes the Shift Is Subtle

Not every session creates an emotional breakthrough.

Sometimes the changes are beautifully quiet.

You may sleep more deeply that night.

You may find yourself responding differently to a stressful situation.

You may notice your mind feels quieter.

You may simply feel more like yourself again.

These gentle shifts are just as meaningful as the big ones.

Healing doesn’t always arrive dramatically.

Often, it unfolds through small moments that gradually create lasting change.

Your Body Knows How to Heal

One of the things I love most about this work is that I don’t believe your body needs to be forced into healing.

Given the right environment, your body already knows what to do.

Sometimes what it needs most is simply permission to pause.

To breathe.

To stop holding everything together for everyone else.

When you create space for rest, your nervous system naturally begins finding its way back toward balance.

Your body remembers.

Sometimes we simply need to give it the opportunity.

Giving Yourself Permission to Receive

For many people, receiving is actually the hardest part.

We’re used to caring for others.

Solving problems.

Staying productive.

Checking things off our lists.

Rest can almost feel uncomfortable at first.

Yet receiving is an important part of healing.

Allowing yourself to be supported isn’t selfish.

It’s an act of caring for yourself in the same way you care for everyone else.

The more we learn to receive, the easier it becomes to move through life with greater presence, resilience, and ease.

A Gentle Return to Yourself

Feeling lighter isn’t about becoming someone new.

It’s about remembering who you are beneath everything you’ve been carrying.

Sometimes clarity appears when the mental noise quiets.

Sometimes peace returns when your body finally relaxes.

Sometimes you simply remember what it feels like to breathe deeply again.

Whatever your experience may be, trust that your body is responding in the way it needs most.

Experience the Feeling for Yourself

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, emotionally heavy, disconnected, or simply unlike yourself lately, you don’t have to carry it alone.

Whether you’re drawn to Reiki, Therapeutic Massage, Sound Healing, or my signature Spirit Alchemy Session, every session is designed to create a safe, supportive space where your body can soften, your nervous system can settle, and you can reconnect with yourself.

Sometimes the greatest transformation isn’t adding something new.

It’s gently releasing what you’ve been carrying all along.

I can’t wait to hold space for you.

With love,
